Travel agencies are exploring new destinations to meet travellers' demands. One agency in Zhuhai launched a tour package to the Antarctic.

Among the various advertisements posted on this travel agency's wall, the most adventurous is the "South Pole Tour". The tour comes with a hefty price tag, over 80 thousand yuan.

One traveller said "It's really expensive."

One traveller said "I'm thinking about it. It seems fun, but considering the price, I have to discuss it first with my family."

The tour last 19 days, flying via Paris and Buenos Aires. The package also includes a visit to China's Great Wall Scientific Exploration Station. Total expenditures can exceed 100 thousand yuan, out of reach for the ordinary traveller.

Wu Xiaohai, Sea & Sky Int'l Travel Service Staff said "Most of the potential clients are veteran travellers, or photographers. They have been to many places, and have done all the ordinary tours. They have the time and financial resources."

The travel agency says there aren't any bookings yet. A similar tour to the South Pole attracted only 5 people last year.
