The coach of Chinese synchronized team Zheng Jia said:"The girls were told that their performance at the preliminary was very outstanding, and parts of their technique seemed better than that of Spain. They were encouraged and they performed even better today."

Jiang Tingting and Jiang Wenwen, the twins of the team, said they were very excited.

The effort impressed an official from the Swimming Center of China's Administration of Sports.

Russia won the gold medal, and Spain took silver.
