Typhoon Molave has weakened into a tropical storm after touching down in south China's Guangdong Province. Molave landed at the town of Nanao in Shenzhen city in the early hours of Sunday.
The storm's wind speed reached 145 kilometers per hour. Downpours drenched a few areas in Guangdong with weather stations reporting precipitation of more than 100 millimeters. Maritime rescue crews successfully pulled a stranded vessel off Shantou, in Guangdong, to a port amid high winds, saving its seven crew members.
The storm then left Guangdong and entered Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The National Meteorological Center says that rainstorms will sweep parts of Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and Guizhou from Sunday night to Monday.
