As key items of China's intangible heritages, the Mongolian Nationality's traditional costumes and long song are the treasures of Chinese culture. A stage performance blending the two subjects was presented in Inner Mongolia.
Half of the 200 performers are nomads, and 50 of them are Long Song representatives from different areas in Inner Mongolia. They present not only the musical culture of Mongolia, but also the everyday lives of Mongolian people. The costumes they showcase are exactly the clothes they wear at home.
Twenty-one Long Song repertoires, representing the 21 Mongolian tribes, were performed. The tribes' most exquisite costumes were displayed, as well as the ornaments that can be traced back to Yuan Dynasty over 800 years ago.
Long Song, as a UNESCO Oral and Intangible Culture Heritage, is the symbolic musical art of Mongolian nationality. Mongolian costumes have always been regarded as one of the most distinctive fineries in the world.
