The internationalized Nankai University is ready to welcome more foreign teachers and students from all over the world, said the university's president.
Rao Zihe, president and distinguished professor of Nankai University, told China.org.cn: "An opening China needs internationalized universities, and higher education which opens wider to the outside world."

This year marks the 90th anniversary of Nankai. As a key multidisciplinary and research-oriented university directly under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, the university in Tianjin on the sea of Bohai, is also the alma mater of Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai.
Nankai University was founded in 1919 by the famous patriotic educators, Zhang Boling and Yan Xiu. During the Anti-Japanese war (1937-1945), Nankai University, Peking University and Tsinghua University united in Kunming to form the renowned Southwest Associated University. It was known as "the North Star of Higher Education".
