Storms in China have left ten people dead. In east China's Anhui Province, 8 people were killed and 120 others injured. And in the country's southern Guangdong Province, two people died. Another is missing.

A gale with a maximum speed of 29 meters per second ravaged Anhui province with hailstones Saturday.

Eight people were killed by collapsing homes and falling trees. And 120 others were injured. Among them, 20 seriously injured people have been hospitalized.

The hailstones also caused a great loss of farm produce.

A farmer from Anhui province said, " All the tomatoes were ruined, and so were the peppers. Nothing is left. "

The local Civil Affairs Bureau has sent out a working team to the affected areas.

The bureau issued an urgent notice ordering local governments remain alert to extreme weather, so as to ensure a quick response and minimize any further losses.

And, in Guangdong province, the continuous torrential rains have triggered floods in the Pingyuan and Jiaoling counties in Meizhou city.
