Vice Premier Wang Qishan will attend the second round of Sino-European Union economic talks scheduled for Thursday and Friday next week. Wang Qishan will jointly chair talks with European leaders.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says China hopes to deliver a positive signal that it is willing to work together with Europe.
The Foreign Ministry says the theme of the second round of Sino-European economic talks is promoting business opportunities in crisis and stimulating economic recovery through opening up trade and investment. China and Europe will exchange views on major issues of economic cooperation.
Jiang Yu, spokeswoman of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said, "China hopes to deliver a positive signal through the talk that China is willing to join hands with Europe to maintain opening up, boost confidence, promote healthy development of bilateral trade and deepen overall strategic partnership."
Vice Premier Wang Qishan will pay an official visit to England from May 8th to 12th. Wang and British Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling will co-chair the second Sino-British financial and economic dialogue. They will discus economic growth, social welfare, financial stability, the capital market, energy and environmental cooperation, as well as trade and investment.
