The Chinese Navy is set to hold a 4-day celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of its founding. The National Defense Ministry says 14 countries will send their delegations and 21 naval vessels to join the event which starts Monday.
Ships from Mexico, Pakistan, Brazil, Bangladesh and France are now near the coast of Shandong province's Qingdao city. Senior military naval officials, including the US Chief of Naval Operations and the Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief, are set to arrive in Qingdao soon.
