Winners of the contest qualify for the Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students, which will be held this October in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

The Canadian contest is held by Hanban, an executive body of the Chinese Language Council International and the Chinese Education Services Center in Canada.
