To a music with a different, and legendary Hollywood producer and actor, Clint Eastwood, surprised jazz fans on Saturday as he attended his son's gig at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival in South Africa. Eastwood's son Kyle was playing there for the first time.
Kyle Eastwood is a versatile jazz musician and leads his own band. Eastwood credits his passion for jazz to his family having been raised in a jazz-loving household. He has released three albums that fuse swing, groove and funk.
He has also scored music to six of his father's films: "The Rookie", "Mystic River", "Million Dollar Baby", "Flags of our Fathers", "Letters from Iwo Jima" and "Gran Torino".
Along with filmmaking, his father is a gifted pianist and is featured on his son's second album, "Paris Blue".
Speaking on the red carpet at the launch party of luxury resort, the One & Only in Cape Town, the younger Eastwood said he was pleased to be playing at the festival.
The elder Eastwood is in South Africa producing his new film "The Human Factor".
Now in its tenth year, the Cape Town Jazz festival is an annual musical extravaganza with 40 international and local acts across five different stages.
