The Formula One 2009 features new cars and rules, which organizers hope to produce more chances for samller teams. The new scoring system will push all the drivers to do their best at every Grand Prix.
The new car features a wide front wing and a high narrow rear wing, slick tyres and a new component called the Kinetic Energy Recovery System. The controvertial scoring system is that, Final champion will be decided on race wins rather than points accumulated.
Ferrari should be happy about the new rule as according to the rule, last-season champion should be Felipe Massa who won most of Grand Prixs. Massa took six wins last season and must be a strong contender for 2009 champion. The Ferrari has proved to be around third or fourth fastest in testing. Kimi Raikkonen is still Massa's teammate in their Ferrari F60 new car.
World Champion Lewis Hamilton's new MP4-24 proved much slower than expected. Hamilton starts his third season of Formula One with added maturity. It remains to be seen how quickly the team can improve the car and bring it to the front of the grid.Hamilton seems confident of the new car.
Lewis Hamilton, F1 World Champion, said, "Finally I've got number one on the car. It is a very proud moment," "And it will be really cool having number one on the car for a whole season. It's the best."
