Revellers have taken to the streets alongside colourful floats at parade in the south-western Greek port city of Patras to marking the end of Carnival. The carnival in Patras is the largest in the country and one of the largest in Europe.
Tens of thousands of spectators from around the country as well as tourists were prepared to be entertained. The Patras parade is known for its floats with satirical political themes.
This year they poked fun at problems plaguing the Greek government, such as political scandals and the state of the economy.
Carnival season begins on January 17th, with days full of treasure hunts, masked balls, theatre and dance performances.
