The Tibetan New Year begins on Wednesday. And Meng Lingqi tells us that there is already a festive mood for their most important traditional festival.
Traditional Tibetan costumes are briskly selling ahead of the approaching Tibetan new year. Tibetans traditionally put on new clothes on the first day of the new year and pray.
Butter flowers are also best-sellers in markets since they are traditional decorations for the New Year. Meanwhile, grass symbolizes the Tibetan's wishes for bumper harvests over the year to come. Especially for farmers and herdmen.
This foreign student is experiencing the festive mood and array of goods.
An Italian student said, "The city looks good. People are busy preparing New Year goods. It's so colorful and amazing. I love it here."
