China's travel industry usually slows down after the busy spring festival holiday. But this year, many tourism operators are enjoying an ongoing boom.
The spring festival "golden week" has become a "golden month" in Sanya, in southern China's Hainan province. The island's travel bonanza started with the spring festival and is continuing even after the holiday has ended. Hotel occupancy is still over eighty-five percent. Travellers are spending at least one thousand yuan a day and staying for over two days on average.
