As part of celebrations of 3 decades of diplomatic ties, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Vice President Xi Jinping have also met with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.

To commemorate the occasion, President Hu Jintao met a U.S. delegation led by former U.S president Jimmy Carter, at the Great Hall of the People.

Hu Jintao expressed gratitude to people on both sides who have made contributions to China-U.S relations. He also said that a strategic partnership between the two countries is in the interest of the two nations.
