The Miao people have the most diverse festivals in Guangxi. They celebrate seeding and harvest. They celebrate foaling and sacrifice. They celebrate when visitors come. The Lusheng, a musical instrument with multiple bamboo pipes is a must at the various festivals.
The Dong ethnic group believes in doing good. They like building bridges, roads and houses for the next generation. The Dong are excellent builders. The famous drum tower and Fengyu qiao or All-Weather Bridge are typical of the architecture of the Dong minority.
From traditional festivals to ethnic costumes, 19 items from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have been put on China's intangible heritage protection list to keep these diverse and splendid folk culture alive.
