The Shanghai municipal government and the Walt Disney Company have agreed on major issues in building the Chinese mainland's first Disneyland. Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng made the remark on Saturday.
He says his government has been in talks with Disney for more than ten years. The theme park is slated to be built in the southeast suburbs of Shanghai's Pudong area about a 20 minutes drive from the city's international airport. The proposed area is set to be the largest among all Disney theme parks.
Negotiations are still underway on the project and details will not be disclosed until an agreement is officially signed.
