NBA stars visit Chinese school
Adjust font size:

It was an unforgettable day on Tuesday for the students of Heyu primary school away in the northern suburbs of the Chinese city of Guangzhou. One day before the NBA China Games in Guangzhou, NBA stars past and present visited the school to donate a basketball court and a library to the students.

As part of the "NBA Cares" programme, dozens of students of the school played basketball with their NBA guests. NBA greats Bob Lanier and AC Green, as well as Stephen Jackson, Kelenna Azubuike, Roony Turiaf, Andris Biedrins and some NBA officials showed up at the event.

As one of the major areas for its global development, the NBA has been putting a lot of effort into nurturing the Chinese market. On Tuesday, Golden States Warriors captain Stephen Jackson said he and his teammates were happy to visit the school.

Stephen Jackson from the Golden State Warriors said, "The Warriors and NBA care about all the kids around the world. This is the main reason why we find time to give back no matter where we are, we love to give back."
