Ningxia's main attractions saw a one-hundred percent increase in the number of tourists over the three-day May Day holiday compared to the same time last year. This is much in part due to the attractions' special features.

Zhenbeibao China Western Film Studio received nearly 20,000 tourists on Sunday, with a yearly increase of 100 percent. Its new feature, Old Yinchuan Street, attracted numerous visitors. The Tomb of the Western Xia King received over 5,000 visitors, which is roughly the same number visitors as last year. Shuidonggou Site received over 10,000 visitors on Sunday, with a revenue of 1.34 million yuan (US$212,735). Shahu Nature Tourist Area held a number of activities, which drew a large number of interested visitors.

Other attractions such as Suyukou National Forest Park, Mingcuihu Wetland Park and Yuehai Park also saw an increase in tourism related business.
