The Tourism Administration of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region recently held a tourism promotional seminar in Qingdao, Shangdong Province, while attending the 2012 China National Tourism Fair hosted by the coastal city.
Ningxia and Shandong are complementary in many fields, the administration’s Deputy Director Xue Gang said. He hoped the tourism industries of the two regions could work together in sharing tourism resources and tapping into new tourist markets.
In recent years, the autonomous region has vowed to cultivate a tourism-oriented industry and turn the west highland into a unique destination for the Arab states and the whole Muslim world.
With years of sustaining efforts, the region has formed a series of featured tour products and distinctive itineraries covering most of the region’s well-known landmarks, such as the Yellow River Front Zone, East Stretch of Helan Mountain Cultural Tourism Zone, Shapotou Scenic Spot, Liupan Mountain and Sand Lake.
