Argentine car pilot Carlos Sainz of the Volkswagen team on Monday won the second stage at the car category of the Dakar Argentina-Chile, which was hosted between Cordoba and San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina.
Sainz timed 3 hours, 11 minutes and 28 seconds, in a trail of 324 kilometers special and 440 kilometers of link. With this Sainz continues being the leader of the general board.
The second place was for Qatari car pilot Al-Attiyah ( Volkswagen) who arrived 1 minutes and 3 seconds after Sainz and the third place was for French Stephane Peterhansel (BMW) who arrived 1 minute and 34 seconds after Sainz.
After the trail, Sainz told the press saying: "the stage today, like yesterday, was difficult. I had problems again with the wipers, which were not working. For some 10km I was not able to see, so I had to drive very slow."
Meanwhile, Peterhansel said: "it is not easy to follow Sainz, he is faster in this technical parts," so he is waiting to arrive in Chile "to find the way to reaching him."
