Argentine Ademar Heguiaberhere and Frenchman Cyril Esquirlo, both competitors of the Dakar Rally, on Monday were recovering from the injuries they suffered in the first stage held one day earlier, the doctors confirmed on Monday.
The doctors added that Heguiaberhere and Esquirol are in stable conditions.
Heguiaberhere, 51, got a surgery as he broke his arm when falling down from his Yamaha quad. He was treated in San Roque Hospital of Cordoba, 700 kilometers away from Buenos Aires.
Esquirol, who was treated in the same hospital, broke his pelvis when he had an accident in his Honda motorbike in the stage.
Local press reported that Esquirol will be taken to Buenos Aires on Tuesday and then to Paris for further treatment as he also had an injury in his head.
