China's Jiang Yaohuan, driving a Chery Rely X5, continued his fine form, finishing Tuesday's 10th stage in 3:34:11 to claim 20th place. Jiang was 19th in the previous two stages.
In the overall standings, Jiang remains 34th with a time of 64:30:21.
The leading Chinese driver overall remains six-time Dakar Rally veteran Lu Ningjun. Lu, also driving a Chery Rely X5, was 28th overall after finishing the 10th stage in 30th place in 3:49:44. However, Lu is more than 25 hours behind leader Sainz.
Zhou Yong, who finished 19th in the 2005 Dakar Rally, the best ever by effort by a Chinese driver, completed the stage in 31st place and is 41st overall.
Fellow Chinese driver Zhu Jinzhong was 58th on Tuesday and is 50th overall.
In the motorcycling section, China's Su Wenmin took 4:24:43 to complete the stage in 77th place. Su is 82nd overall. Wei Guanghui finished the stage in 91st place in 5:13:40 and is 85th overall.
