Chinese veteran rally driver Lu Ningjun moved up in the overall standings on Tuesday after finishing 35th in the fourth stage of the Dakar Rally.
Lu, who is at the wheel of a Chery Rely X5 and is making his sixth trip to the world's most grueling rally, completed the 163km stage in two hours, 38 minutes and 30 seconds. He moved up from 58th overall to 41st, the best of five Chinese participants in the car category.
Lu's teammate Jiang Yaohuan, also driving a China made Chery Rely X5, was 38th on Tuesday and moved up to 43rd overall.
Standing between Lu and Jiang in the China rankings was Zhou Yong. Zhou was 46th in the 4th stage and is at 43rd overall. Zhu Jinzhong finished 59th on Tuesday and was 54th overall. His teammate, Zhao Yongguo, still had not reached the checkpoint as of Wednesday morning.
In the motorcycling section, China's Su Wenmin and Wei Guanghui were the 110th and 111th to reach home in the fourth stage. In the overall rankings, Wei was 110th and Su 113th.
