The referee failed to handle the excessive physical contact right from the start. China's Zhang Qingpeng hit the ground head first after a hard foul and left the court on a stretcher in route to the hospital. Players from both teams, including bench players, punched and kicked each other after the game resumed. When the visitors elected to walk off the court, the game was abandoned.
