Cruzeiro and Gremio draw 2-2 in Brazilian championship

Cruzeiro tied Gremio 2-2 at home in the 11th round of the 2010 Brazilian Championship on Sunday as they scored in the last minutes.

Gremio scored the opener in the 45th minute. After an excellent pass from Ferdinando, Jonas drove down the field and crossed the ball to a cutting Borges who headed it into the home team's goal.

Cruzeiro responded immediately, scoring in the first minute of the second half. Jonathan crossed the ball from the lower right corner of the field. Thiago Ribeiro redirected the ball, finding Henrique to head it into the goal.

Gremio reclaimed the lead in the 79th minute when Jonas fired a direct kick into the upper right corner of the Cruzeiro goal, out of reach of goalkeeper Fabio.

However, Cruzeiro was able to score once more, tying the game in the 86th minute. Off a corner kick from Everton, Henrique split the defense and headed the ball into the net, scoring his second goal of the match.

The draw keeps Cruzeiro in sixth place with 16 points. The team will face cross town rival Atletico-MG on August 1 in the 12th round of play.

Gremio dropped to 18th place with 11 points, and will play cross town rival Internacional in the 12th round on August 1.
