| Streep also referenced the film "Dark Matter", in which she co-starred with Liu. In the film, Liu played an introverted astrophysics student who turns to murder when his nomination for the Nobel Prize is obstructed by American university politics. |

| Liu agreed with Streep's analysis, and further illustrated the point by discussing the difficulty he had experienced with a piece of dialogue from the film which included a long line of astrophysics terms. "I had been filming (that line) for several hours," he said. "I was beginning to feel dizzy and the long sentence was splintering in my mind and forming strange letters." Liu commented that Streep's encouraging glances saved him from falling into despair. "I was deeply moved because you (Streep) stood in front of me all the time, telling me 'come on, you can do it!' through eye contact alone, " he said. "It's true, you can really feel what's she's thinking when she's acting." |

When the discussion came to Ge, however, the tone turned from philosophical to comical. "Just now, I remembered a very funny thing," he said in the flat, unaffected Mandarin so familiar to fans of his films. "But now I forget." The laughter which followed, from the audience and fellow panelists alike, proved that humor, like language, can indeed be universal.
