Australian former helicopter pilot Christopher Malloy has built the world's first flying motorcycle in his Sydney garage, the Daily Mail reported.

He plowed his entire life-savings into the project, which took two and a half years to complete.

His futuristic creation - dubbed the Hoverbike - can reach an altitude of 10,000ft and speeds of over 100mph.

Fans of the design have already compared Malloy's work to the 'speeder bikes' from the Stars Wars sequel "Return Of The Jedi" or the hovering car from "Back To The Future".

The machine uses a custom-built carbon-fiber airframe and a BMW engine.

澳男子造首辆飞行摩托

       据英国《每日邮报》报道，澳大利亚前直升机飞行员克里斯托弗•马洛伊在他悉尼的车库里研发出世界上第一辆可以飞上天的摩托车。

       该项发明历时两年半，耗费了他所有的积蓄。

       他给这辆未来感十足的飞行摩托起名叫“摇摆自行车”，其飞行高度可达1万英尺（3048米），时速超过100英里（160.93公里）。

       “飞行摩托”的粉丝们称，这完全可以媲美好莱坞科幻片《星球大战：武士复仇》和《回到未来》中的飞行摩托。

       这辆飞行摩托采用的是宝马发动机，机身用碳化纤维制成。
