这年头什么都不安全，吃的、用的都可能致癌。之前霸王洗发水含有致癌物质的传闻还未平息，又传出金浩茶油致癌物质含量超标的消息。那么，这个“致癌物质”用英语应该怎么说呢？

       一种方法是直译为cancer-causing substance，例如中国网的报道《霸王洗发水被指含致癌物》中称：

       据7月14日香港媒体《壹周刊》报道，香港公证所化验结果表明，霸王洗发产品含有致癌物质二恶烷。霸王国际回应称，洗发水中的二恶烷含量对人体无害，在欧盟法例中也是允许的，并且为整个行业广泛使用。

       Samples of BaWang's shampoos were found to contain the cancer-causing substance dioxane, Hong Kong-based Next Magazine reported on July 14, citing test results by inspection and analysis company SGS. Bawang said the level of dioxane in its products is well within the safety limit prescribed by EU and is widely used in the industry.

       另外，还有一个词carcinogen专指“致癌物质”。请见中国网9月2日的报道《金浩茶油致癌物含量超标》：

       湖南省质监官员周二时承认，该省著名食用油生产商金浩公司5个月前曾秘密召回致癌物苯并(a)芘严重超标的金浩茶油。

       Local health authorities Tuesday admitted they waited five months before announcing that secret recalls of camellia oil had been ordered by Jinhao, a well-known edible oil maker based in Hunan Province, after the oil was found to contain excessive amounts of a carcinogen known as Benzo(a)pyrene.
