Three non-polluted public buses which operate on hydrogen fuel cells are to debut in Beijing next year.
These three buses were made in America but China is reportedly the first developing country to introduce these anti pollution buses.
The Ministry of Science and Technology has invested 900 million yuan, or about US$108 million, to develop future homemade hydrogen buses.
The ministry said that domestic produced hydrogen buses are currently going through a trial period and should be put into use before the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Compared with ordinary buses, these environmentally friendly ones will produce few emissions and depend less on oil consumption.
