Wenchang and Hong Kong Linked by Bus

People in Wenchang, Hainan Province can now go to Hong Kong by bus.

At 6:30 pm April 28, a luxury bus carrying 32 passengers drove onto a ship so as to cross the Qiongzhou Straits. The bus reached Hong Kong at 7 am April 29. The whole journey covered 920 kilometers.

Wenchang is the hometown of many overseas Chinese. Every month about 1,000 people there apply to go to Hong Kong for business or family visit purpose. And quite a few Wenchang people in Hong Kong return home to visit their families or to do sightseeing too.
