Education software with a combined value of 115 million yuan (US$13.86 million) was donated in Yinchuan Wednesday to northwestern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to help the digitization of local educational resources.
The donations made by Microsoft (China), U.S.-based Macromedia and three other information technology firms include 5,000 sets of software on the appraisal of curricula in primary and junior middle schools and application software for vocational training.
At the donation ceremony, six cooperation memoranda were signed between the donors and the autonomous regional government on further technical cooperation in the application of multi-media technologies.
Senior local official Ma Wenxue said Ningxia would like to cooperate with more IT companies to boost the autonomous region's digitization.
