Liu Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said in Beijing Tuesday that the CPC is willing to enhance cooperation with the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party.
Liu made the remark in a meeting with a delegation of the Spanish party, led by Trinidad Jimenez, permanent member of the party's Executive Committee.
Liu said the CPC attaches great importance to its relations with the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party and the friendly ties between the two sides have been improved continuously with frequent exchanges since the two established relations.
The CPC is willing to enhance cooperation with the Spanish side to promote China-Spain relations based on the four principles of full independence, equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, said Liu, who is also secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
Jimenez said the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party and the Spanish government have always cherished the friendship between the two parties and the two countries.
He noted that his party will, as always, adhere to the one-China policy and support China's efforts for national unification.
