Li Lanqing Calls for Sound, Fair Economic Environment

China should continue to rectify and regulate market and economic order and strive for a rule-based, credible and fair market and economic environment, Chinese Vice- Premier Li Lanqing has said recently in Hangzhou.

Li made the remarks during his tour of east China's Zhejiang Province, which is famous for its thriving private economy.

Li said while cracking down hard on production and marketing of fake and shoddy products and tax evasion, efforts should be made to reform the distribution system and explore new ways to promote modern distribution systems.

He stressed the need to improve the country's legal system and create a national credit system and promote the awareness of law and order and credit among the corporate world and self-employed business people.

He spoke highly of the achievements made by Zhejiang province in rectifying market and economic order during the past year.

During the five-day tour of investigation in the province, the vice-premier also talked with local government officials, farmers and teachers about economic development, agriculture, education and other issues.
