The Sixth Three Gorges International Tourism Festival will be held from April 25 to May 5 this year in Chongqing Municipality, southwest China, according to local sources.

Sources with the Chongqing Municipal People's Government said that the festival will consist of a series of activities including a flower show, an international exhibition of hotel equipment, a symposium on Sino-US architectural projects and an auto and motorcycle exhibition.

The 2001 Chongqing Investment and Trade Fair will be held simultaneously. The fair is expected to attract representatives from international economic organizations, investment and financial institutions, both Chinese and overseas renowned enterprises, foreign ambassadors to China, celebrities from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and officials of Chinese ministries.

Chongqing has prepared 1,100 programs for the coming investment and trade fair, which cover energy resources, communications, environmental protection, high-tech, auto, the natural gas and chemical industries, medicine, tourism and agriculture.
