Beijing to Cut Express Tolls

Beijing will lower toll charges on the expressway leading to the airport from the latter six months of the year, Monday's Beijing Morning Post reported.

The toll will fall to around 10 yuan (US$1.2)on average for all vehicles passing through the 18.735-kilometer expressway. The current charge is averaged at 15 yuan,or 0.79 yuan each kilometer.

The decision to cut the toll charge was made in response to a flood of complaints that the current charge on the expressway is far higher than the nation's average, the newspaper said.

The expressway's manager Beijing Capital Highway Development Co Ltd.is busy rearranging the capital management,as they said the price cut will hurt the company's revenue and will delay it in repaying the loans.
