Qinhuangdao City, a well-known Summer resort in north China's Hebei Province, has been protecting local wetland as part of its environmental efforts in recent years.
The city, with a 124.6-km-long coastline, has set up a number of nature reserves on its wetland where regulations have been adopted to prohibit illegal hunting, fishing and logging.
Meanwhile, the city has built up two large sewage plants to handle over 60 percent of the waste water discharges in the urban areas.
The efforts have paid off. Local experts have discovered 412 kinds of birds in the city, accounting for one third of the country's total.
