China has 30 million people who regularly surf the Internet, but the country still has no say in the international Internet stage, according to Wu Jichuan, minister of the information industry.
Wu made the remarks at the recent launching ceremony for the Internet Society of China, the country’s first industry organization for the Internet.
This non-government organization is supported by top government authorities including the Ministry of Information Industry, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the State Council Information Office.
The international Internet organization, Internet Society, was kicked off in the US in January 1992, that has become the most authoritative Internet organization making most of the game rules for the industry.
