The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Beijing's People's Procuratorate has recovered 400 million yuan (US$48 million) in public money so far this year from grafters.
The figure represents nearly 70 percent of what was recovered for the whole of last year, or 580 million yuan (US$70 million).
Over 600 enforcement officers were cited Thursday by Beijing's People's Procuratorate.
A top anti-corruption officer said Thursday they have handled 1, 008 corruption cases during the past three years.
Of the total, there have been 253 cases each involving at least one million yuan, 38 involving 10 million yuan or more, and five involving more than 100 million yuan.
The officer said anti-corruption departments in Beijing will give priority to major corruption cases, focusing their attention on medicine, education, construction, finance, negotiable securities and customs departments.
