Calls of the Wild

A group of young people go camping to get close to the nature. Danny Ye, one of the three organizers of the camping club, explores a mountain in Ninghai of Zhejiang Province in search of a campsite.

"Before I went camping, I thought it was as ordinary as other casual activities like hiking, boating and playing tennis," said Zhu Jingyi, account director of a magazine named New Shanghaiese.

Zhu attended a trip organized by the 72 UU Club to Maichai'ao in Ningbo in the neighboring Zhejiang Province.

"I was thrilled by it," Zhu said.

She added that camping challenged both her physical and mental abilities. The most unforgettable part of the trip was crossing the wall-like barriers, which she said 'no' to herself at the first sight before boosting her confident at the sincere encouragement from her friends.

"Their warm hands lifted me to cross the barriers," Zhu said. "Now I know the true meaning of 'give a hand.' Team spirit emerged spontaneously in the beautiful environment."

The club, which arranged the camping trips fuelled young people's desire to return to nature, answering the call of the wild. It is organized by three young men who were born in 1972.

The club provides the participants with all camping equipment like tents, sleeping bags, stoves, woks, first-aid kits, portable toilets, life jackets, darts, chess sets and even GPS systems.

So before you are killed by boredom, let's go camping.
