The Beijing Chaoyang Court Thursday convicted pop singer Hong Dou of indecent assaults on seven male teens thus by first instance sentenced him to three and six months of life in jail.
Singer Hong Dou (Wang Liyong) is guilty of buggery and other obscene crimes for his indecent assaults on seven male victims, the court emphatically declared by relying on the strength of investigations made.
The seven victims are enrollees studying in a ballet class under the Beijing Dance School whom he had by using various tricks as 'playing cyber games' and 'angling' lured and had crimes committed at hotel rooms and his home at Xiangheyuan, Chaoyang District, Beijing, April 2000 to June 2001. By the end of last year December 17, the Beijing Chaoyang Court arrested and brought him to justice.
It was told that Hong Dou had once tried his luck and made a name by his singing and a film he had shot chalking up record Office-Box value on the line of his trade. In October the same year, he had ever been selected image ambassador representing "Peace and Health" by the China Children's Fund
Hong Dou looks well as his rosy complexion strikes the reporter though he has been an inmate over the last few months. The convict' opinion would be sought to decide whether he is going to lodge an appeal or not, his lawyer told the reporter.
Hong Dou made his debut as a singer in 1987 and his 2001 movie was a box office hit in the domestic market. In October last year, he was elected as the "image ambassador" for China's Children's Foundation.
