Lawmakers to Review Laws, Amendments Next Week

Members of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, will meet next week to deliberate two draft laws and three draft amendments next week.

The agenda for the 24th meeting of the NPC Standing Committee, scheduled for October 22-27, was approved by a meeting of the chairman and vice-chairpersons of the NPC Standing Committee held here Monday.

Li Peng, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over Monday's meeting.

According to the 23-item agenda for the upcoming meeting, a draft law on the management of maritime areas use will be tabled, along with a draft law on the prevention and treatment of occupational diseases.

Three draft amendments are to be discussed, including amendments to the Copyright Law, the Law on Trademarks, and the Trade Union Law.
