Chinese Vice-President Hu Jintao met in Beijing Thursday with Truong Vinh Trong, a member of the Secretariat of the Vietnamese Communist Party Central Committee and director of the Central Committee's Home Affairs Commission.
Hu, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said that as ruling parties which pursue socialist road and adhere to reform and opening-up policies, the Chinese and Vietnamese Communist Parties should frequently exchange views and learn from each other about the new issues they face.
Hu said that bilateral relations, as well as relations between the two Parties, have developed steadily and are characterized by mutual trust, support, cooperation and a common aspiration for progress.
Trong said that Vietnam and China are good neighbors, comrades, brothers and members of one family. Vietnam will continue to nurture the well-established friendship between the two countries in the future, he said.
