Sichuan Robbery Case Cracked Down

Police has cracked down on a robbery in which four armed gangs stormed the accounting department of the Pangzhihua Iron and Steel Company, and fled seizing 190,000 yuan (US$22,900).

All the four robbers were captured, and part of the taken money was recovered, local Pangzhihua police told reporters on Tuesday. Pangzhihua is a heavy industrial city in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

At 9:05 am on August 18, the armed robbers made their way into the steel firm's payment office and took away more than 190,000 yuan (US$22,900). Ever since then, the four, booked by the police, had been on the running track.

Pangzhihua police detected the whereabouts of two of the four suspects in its Renhe Town. They detained Huang Taigang and Zhang Kaiyou on November 9 and 11. Police found out 26,400 yuan (US$3,100) at Huang's home.

Another two fugitives were captured later.
