A Hong Kong sports official is to attend the Global Coach Conference in Colorado Springs from May 2 to 4, announced Hong Kong Olympic Committee on Tuesday.
Pang Chung, secretary general of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), will be present at the conference at the invitation of the US Olympic Committee Coaching and Sport Sciences Division.
On February 8, 2002, the SF&OC was offered a scholarship to attend the conference.
Having a strong coaching background before taking up the current post, Pang would take this opportunity to exchange views with other international coaches and to explore the possibilities of drawing coaching assistance and expertise from other countries into Hong Kong, said SF&OC.
The Global Coach Conference will be a meeting point for coaches and renowned sport scientists from around the world. It will focus on applied knowledge, practical coaching presentations and topics on technique and technology designed to bridge the gap between sports science and coaching.
