Chinese Entrepreneurs to Contribute More to World Civilization, Prosperity

On the journey to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Chinese entrepreneurs, serving as bridges and links, will surely make greater contributions to the civilization advancement and common prosperity of the world.

The Sixth World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention, opened here Monday morning, has attracted more than 3,000 Chinese entrepreneurs from overseas and 2,000 from the mainland of China. The meeting will serve as a platform for entrepreneurs of Chinese origin to exhibit their talents and conduct mutual exchanges and cooperation.

Chinese entrepreneurs have shown to the world their unique charm. They can be seen in almost all economic fields, from the traditional catering industry to the rapidly rising high-tech industries.

The more than 30 million overseas Chinese and people of Chinese origin in other countries have created a series of outstanding stories of success.

Thanks to their diligence and talent, overseas Chinese have contributed greatly to the development and prosperity of the countries and regions they reside in, and also to the world's economic development and social progress.

The overseas immigration of Chinese people can be dated back to more than 2,000 years ago. Up to now, overseas Chinese worldwide have long lived in harmony with local people and become responsible and dutiful members of the countries and regions they live in.

While contributing to the development and prosperity of the countries and regions they reside in, the overseas Chinese and people of Chinese origin worldwide have also been concerned with the development of their homeland, the mainland of China. Especially since China adopted the reform and opening-up policy, many overseas Chinese have tried to help promote and support China's reform, opening-up and economic development.

When they come back to their homeland today, they will surely be proud of the rapid progress of their "mother country": the prosperity, people living peaceful lives, development of the western region, the pending entry into the World Trade Organization, and the right to host the 2008 Olympic Games...

The Sixth World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention is expected to provide a broad opportunity for Chinese entrepreneurs to exhibit their talent.

The first World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention was held in 1991.
