Customs Revenue Hits New High

Chinese customs revenue reached 102. 06 billion yuan as of Wednesday, an increase of 24 percent from a year earlier and a new high for a half-year operation, the General Administration of Customs said Friday.

Customs officials attributed the sharp increase mainly to the country's continuous economic development, growing imports, the government's intensified efforts to crack down on smuggling, and the improvements in customs services.
