Nicholas Liverpool, president of the Commonwealth of Dominica, arrived in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Thursday.

During his meeting with Liverpool, Zhang Xuezhong, secretary of Sichuan provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC),expressed his hope for further cooperation in the fields of economic, trade and tourism between Sichuan and the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The provincial government will encourage enterprises in Sichuan to invest in the Commonwealth of Dominica when the time is right, Zhang added.

Liverpool said he and his country warmly welcome Sichuan business people to invest in the Commonwealth of Dominica and willcreate a favorable environment.

At the invitation of the Chinese government, Liverpool arrived in Beijing on March 19, kicking off his seven-day unofficial visitto China. Prior to Sichuan, he already visited the Chinese capitaland northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
