Over 100,000 Taiwanese Visit Terra-cotta Exhibition

Tuesday saw a total of 100,000 Taiwan residents show up at the ongoing Qin "Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Exhibition", which, featuring the "Terra-cotta Culture of the Qin Dynasty", has been going on in Taipei since December 15.

According to the Taiwan United Daily, a major local newspaper, the exhibition has attracted flocks of the island visitors waiting in queue for it. On December 26, the 100,000th lucky visitor, going to the exhibition, was given a souvenir from the exhibition sponsors. The report says, the exhibition, having scored a record high of 100,000 visitors, seems still to charm more and more people before it goes to an end on March 31, 2001.

A commentary on Taiwan daily Minsheng Pao also says that the exhibition is a great event, which has created a fervor in Taiwan's cultural circle. The display of the Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses is a reflection of the splendid art of molding in Chinese culture. How could we deny these cultural heritages of the Chinese nation when standing in front of these exquisite relics? The commentary hopes that the exhibition would help increase the cultural exchanges between the two sides of the Straits.
