Guy Tozzoli, president of World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), reiterated on Sunday all its members will continue to promote world peace through trade.
Speaking in New York, he gave a New Year's Day message from his office to all members of the international organization.
In an exclusive telephone interview with China Daily, Tozzoli said that he wished everybody a very happy New Year and a peaceful life in 2002.
Although the terrorist attack in New York on September 11 destroyed the famous World Trade Centre's twin towers, the disaster has not exterminated the dedication of all WTCA members to the promotion of world peace through trade, he said.
``I know that some people feel that September 11 should be a special day for us, and without question it will always be remembered with appropriate activities,'' Tozzoli said.
``We shall dedicate all our efforts to create a more favorable environment for WTCA members in more than 300 cities worldwide to trade with various channels and high technologies, such as TradeCard,'' he added.
The president plans to organize the first annual World Trade Centers Association Day next year, so as to publicize WTCA's facilities and services.
The event can be a reception, seminar, exhibition or similar programme chosen by the WTCA member's management.
An important part of every programme will be the selection by each WTCA member of an individual or organization in that region that best represents the WTCA's vision of peace and stability through trade, he added.
